Christmas Wrap-Up

I can't believe Christmas has come and gone.  It's kind of a big blur at this point, but we have some good memories to look back on.  We're finally starting to form some Christmas traditions of our own.  It seems that they're a good mix of Jon's family traditions and mine and we'll be able to sustain them without making ourselves crazy!  One that we started this year was to go to a Christmas tree farm and cut down our own tree.  We headed to a farm in Connecticut that was recommended by some friends.  The boys had a blast running around the farm.  They had just had their first little snowfall of the season, so that was a nice (but cold) treat.  We managed to find a tree that would work in our space (i.e. way too big!) and hauled it back to NYC.  The kids had a great time decorating it and it only fell over 3 times during the course of the holidays!

The boys had some fun celebrations at their schools that I was able to go to.  Noah's class made candy houses out of milk cartons and graham crackers and Gabe's class sang "Baby it's Cold Outside" at their winter performance.  Both celebrations were complete with festive headbands! We had an "Angry Birds" and "Ninja Turtles" themed Christmas this year.  It's always so much fun to watch them open their presents.  Luckily the magic of Santa is still very much alive this year in our home.  I'm hoping to hold onto their innocence as long as possible!

We also managed to do some baking in between sight seeing with cousins and traveling back and forth to grandma's house.  Eden was the perfect 1st Christmas baby :)  She loved every minute of the festivities and attention.  I'm excited for what this new year will bring...
