"I'm checking my email!"

Me: Noah, what are you doing back there?
(as he wedges himself behind the stereo speaker)

Noah: I'm checking my email!

Me: Oh, really! What does it say?

Noah: MOMMY.... IS.... PERFECT!

Me: giant grin :)

***I've since learned that when he says he's checking his email... it also means that he's pooping. awesome.***

furniture and flowers

So, I'll admit it... I'm not the easiest person to live with right now. My pregnancy hormones have been working some serious overtime and this past month has been kind of a crazy ride. I just really hate not feeling like myself and especially feeling like I have zero control over my emotions -- top that with my ever-growing belly and in the words of Juno... feeling like I'm "trapped in a fat suit that I can't take off"... and it's just a bad combination. My family has definitely gotten the worst of having to deal with me and I feel really bad about it. Sometimes I'm surprised that my husband rushes home from work like he does and doesn't find some excuse to stay away for a little longer everyday! (I'm sure he thinks that would make things worse... which is probably right :)

Anyway, in preparation for baby boy #2 we've been in the middle of some serious home improvement projects... basically just trying to use the space we have better and de-clutter. Although these projects have taken tons of time -- time that we really haven't had lately -- it's been so nice to see it all come together. In fact after we finally got Noah's new toy shelves put together I exclaimed, "This is the happiest I've been in 7 months!" That's seriously pathetic... but oh so true.
(here's a picture... I can't tell you how much I even love cleaning up toys now!)

So, after seeing how happy that made me, the other day I came home from a morning of errands to find this...
and this...
Jon had come home from work after a patient cancelled, put together more furniture and brought me flowers. I was in tears...

computer nerd

A few weeks ago my friend told me about a website that helps kids learn to read... it's called starfall. She claimed it to be one of the best guilt-free websites out there for computer time, especially if the kid can navigate the mouse on his own. I've been starting to do some reading games with Noah and he's been pretty into it, but sometimes he's just way to busy to concentrate. So, we checked it out... and it is awesome. He is completely obsessed with it. We tried it out together for the first few times because he wasn't quite that coordinated to do work the mouse on his own. But after about the 3rd try, he said, "Noah's turn?," grabbed the mouse and started clicking away. I was seriously shocked.

Now he's completely capable of navigating the website by himself which means he gets some quality pre-reading training and I get dinner made.

check it out...
